Men’s basketball senior guard Stefhon Hannah was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault at 4 p.m. today in relation to a Jan. 27 incident at Athena Night Club in downtown Columbia, according to a news release from Columbia Police Department.
Immediately following the arrest, he was released from police custody.
Police told The Maneater in a previous report that Hannah was unconscious by the time they reached the scene. He was taken to University Hospital and had surgery for a broken jaw.
Senior guard Jason Horton was arrested Feb. 1 on suspicion of third-degree assault after a victim identified Horton as the person who assaulted the victim.
Coach Mike Anderson instituted a no-tolerance policy after junior forward DeMarre Carroll was shot in the ankle in downtown Columbia in July. Horton, Hannah, junior forward Leo Lyons and senior forwards Darryl Butterfield and Marshall Brown were suspended from the team after the incident at Athena.
Horton, Lyons, Butterfield and Brown have all played since the suspension.
