The Big 12-leading Texas A&M Aggies proved their might this weekend, sweeping MU in College Station, Texas.

The opening game of the weekend started well for the Tigers.

They had an 8-1 lead going into the bottom of the sixth inning of Friday night’s series opener.

Junior and staff ace Aaron Crow was on the mound.

The Aggies scored one run in the sixth inning and four in the seventh.

Texas A&M finished the rally and won 9-8.

Crow finished with six innings pitched, giving up six hits and five runs, all earned.

Saturday’s game lacked the lead changes or suspense of Friday’s.

After not scoring in the first inning, Texas A&M scored in each subsequent inning, taking a 15-0 victory.

Sophomore pitcher Kyle Gibson got the start for the Tigers.

He lasted five innings, surrendering seven runs, all earned, on seven hits.

Sunday’s game provided the most drama.

The Tigers fell behind 2-0 in the early going.

Sophomore Aaron Senne singled in both the seventh and ninth innings. In the seventh, he scored on a single by freshman shortstop Andrew Thigpen.

In the ninth, freshman Rex Meyr came on as a pinch runner for Senne.

A double by sophomore catcher Trevor Coleman scored Meyr to tie the game at 2.

Junior Rick Zagone got the start on Sunday, re-entering the weekend rotation.

It was his first start in a conference game this season. Zagone pitched the entire game Sunday.

He got out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth inning to force extra innings.

The Tigers loaded the bases in the top of the 10th, but were unable to score.

Aggie junior outfielder Kyle Colligan hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning, giving the Aggies a 3-2 win.

The Aggies improve to 18-3 in the Big 12, good for first in the conference.

With the sweep, the Tigers slip to 9-9 in Big 12 play. The team is now 29-14 overall.
