Accompanied by her family, a 22-year-old woman turned herself into the Columbia Police Department Tuesday in regard to an early morning knife assault.
The assault occurred at about 1:35 a.m. on Sept. 21 in the 4400 block of Ria Street, an earlier CPD news release stated. Victims and witnesses told officers that Rickman used a kitchen knife to stab her ex-boyfriend and a female victim during an argument at the male victim's residence, police said.
According to the release, the victims and witnesses told officers that Kimberly Ann Rickman, a Holcomb resident, stabbed the woman in the chest and head and the man in the arm as he tried to take the knife from her.
The victims, a 22-year-old male Columbia resident and a 19-year-old female Clinton resident, were treated for non-lethal knife wounds, the release stated.
Rickman made incriminating statements during her interview with an investigator and was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree domestic assault and two counts of armed criminal action, police said.
According to Tuesday's release, Rickman was transported and released into the custody of the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
