Letter to the Editor: Poor grammar leads to stereotyping

When I read the feature article on the front page of The Maneater last week, I just shook my head and sighed. I was in disbelief that the quote from (junior linebacker) Sean Weatherspoon was actually printed on the front page. He said, "We didn't really do nothing." Later on, "We didn't get no BCS bowl or nothing like that." Even the Microsoft Word program I am using this moment recognizes this is poor grammar. The plethora of double negatives astounds me. In addition, by printing this, you are further enforcing the stereotype that college football players are not smart. I'm no journalism student, but couldn't you have used some other quote?
