Published Sept. 8, 2008
Police responded to two calls from residents of a northeast Columbia mobile home park Saturday morning about property damage caused by gunfire.
A a resident of the park called police at 8:50 a.m. and said he had discovered a bullet that had been shot through the windshield of his parked vehicle. The resident couldn't tell officers when the bullet had been shot.
At 12:13 p.m., another resident called officers to report he had found a bullet in the kitchen area of his residence. The bullet had been shot from the roof of the mobile home. The resident reported to officers that around 2:30 a.m. he had heard a noise that startled him, but did not bother to check what it was at the time.
Officers were able to collect both bullets from the residences, but are unable at this time to determine what type of gun the bullets came from and if the bullets came from the same gun.
"The caliber of the gun was not indicated in the report," CPD Sgt. Ken Hammond said. "The bullets will be sent to the lab to determine the caliber of gun used."
At this time, there is no suspect information regarding these incidents, according to the release.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers 875-TIPS.
