Kate Raymond is a senior nursing major from Dallas.
She is representing the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, which she has been a member of since her freshman year at MU.
"What I have valued specifically in Theta is that it is a constant support system," Raymond said.
She said Greek Life has a strong presence on campus that has contributed to the richness of her MU experience.
Raymond said she was completely ecstatic when she found out she made the top 10 Homecoming candidates.
"It is such an honor to be able to represent Mizzou as one of the candidates," Raymond said.
She said her favorite Homecoming activity is viewing the campus decorations because it culminates the many aspects of what Homecoming stands for at MU, spirit, pride and community.
"So many hours and behind-the-scenes work goes into making such a production," Raymond said. "It fosters a sense of pride in knowing that we continue to carry on and improve upon a tradition that was started almost 100 years ago."
Raymond is also a member of the Alumni Association Student Board, the Student Nurses' Association, Student Outreach and the Mortarboard Society.
Raymond's most recent plans for after graduation include moving to Washington and getting a job in a hospital as a nurse.
