A Columbia woman was arrested after stabbing her husband Tuesday, according to Columbia Police Department news release.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the location of 907 Pannell St. at 9:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 47-year-old Aaron Mallory lying unconscious in his doorway, and the suspect, Tyra L. Mallory, 30, in the front yard.

Aaron Mallory was taken to a local hospital with two knife wounds, while the Tyra Mallory was taken into custody.

"All I will say is that we have had contact with the suspect in the past," said Capt. Stephen Monticelli of the Columbia Police Department.

Aaron Mallory was found with at least two knife gashes in his body: one in his arm, and the other in his shoulder. He is currently in stable condition at University Hospital, while his wife was arrested arrest on suspicion of armed criminal action and first-degree domestic assault.

Aaron Mallory was charged with a felony in December. Monticelli said he punched his wife in the mouth and shoved her to the ground when she refused to give him money to purchase crack cocaine.

Aaron Mallory also pleaded guilty twice in the past year on charges for misdemeanor assault. The couple has been married since 2007.
