The Residence Halls Association will begin next year with two additional executive positions.

Each position will be paid $350 per semester as compared to the previous salary of $200 per semester. During the course of this academic year, RHA executives decided to promote the programming coordinator position from cabinet member to executive board member.

"The programming coordinator moved up because we felt like it was a lot more responsibility than other cabinet positions, and we felt it was best fit for the executive board," RHA Vice President-elect Lauren Thomas said.

Beginning next year, RHA will also have a director of communications on its executive board as opposed to a communications committee.

"Communications moved up because we felt one person could better carry out the duties of the communications committee," Thomas said.

Speaker of Congress Blake Lawrence also added new cabinet members.

The Internal Committee will have two subcommittees: the Rules and Policy Committee and Campus Dining Services/Facilities Management Committee. Lawrence designed the rules and policy committee to stay on top of internal affairs and CDS/Facilities management to generate questions for the administration.

The external committee will also have two subcommittees. An MUTV/Channel 23 Programming Committee will take polls and offer recommendations to MUTV. The House Naming Committee will generate names for floor houses.

Residence hall tenants can choose to name them whatever they want if approved by the Board of Curators, Lawrence said.

"All of the houses should have names, but a lot of them don't," Lawrence said.

The subcommittee chairs Lawrence created will not be paid.
