Editorial: Mays left mark on MU through advocacy
Mays left MU in March to study in Japan.
Published May 8, 2009
Former Missouri Students Association Senate Speaker Jonathan Mays had students' best interests at heart.
Mays gave funds being transferred from the diversity fee to the appropriate students, worked with the Student Fee Improvement Committee to decrease the amount that students pay in student fees and continued to ask for the budget of the Division of Information Technology, which revealed more than $1 million in carryover.
From his service as speaker for two years to his impressive watchdog performance over student fees and involvement behind many student movements, Mays consistently acted in the best interests of MU students.
Mays left for Japan in March to study abroad.
