Editorial: Maqbool brings world events to MU

Nabihah Maqbool has worked behind the scenes in multiple diversity organizations to make her presence known on campus as someone who wants to see change, both globally and locally.

As public relations chairwoman for the Muslim Student Organization, Maqbool integrated MSO with Four Front. This year MSO and the Jewish Student Organization had their first ever ice skating social.

Maqbool has also worked with the administration to get more prayer space at MU and dining options for students during Ramadan. Maqbool helps clear up misconceptions about the Middle East and shows support for those who suffer, even if they are half a world away.

Her work with Stand Mizzou has brought attention to genocides around the world, such as the Darfur region of the Sudan.
