Man flees scene, identified by eyewitness account

Police arrested Jack Morrison, 39, on Wednesday evening for failing to report an accident at the University Avenue parking garage.

Morrison hit another car and left the scene without leaving contact information on the damaged vehicle, according to MUPD reports.

The owner of the damaged vehicle returned to his or her car that afternoon and found a note written by a witness of the accident. The note contained Morrison’s license plate number, MU Police Department spokesman Brian Weimer said.

The owner of the damaged vehicle used this information when reporting the accident. Police ran the license plate number and identified Morrison as the owner of the other vehicle.

Morrison was arrested and released on signature summons.

The officer followed Burleson and stopped him in parking lot RC18. After conducting a sobriety test, it was determined Burleson was intoxicated, according to MUPD reports.

Burleson was arrested for driving while intoxicated and was released on a $500 city bond.

Sutherland was seen in the passenger seat of a white Ford truck with a missing headlight, and the exterior mirrors were lying next to the vehicle. Sutherland was charged on suspicion of second-degree property damage, stealing misdemeanor and second-degree tampering.

Man arrested on DWI charges

After observing a traffic violation, police arrested James Page, 50, near South Providence Road and Locust Street early Sunday morning.

Police observed Page’s vehicle touch and cross the center traffic line for four to five seconds, Weimer said.

The vehicle continued to weave in the lane, according to MUPD reports.

After pulling the vehicle over, police conducted a sobriety test and determined the individual was intoxicated.

Page was arrested for driving while intoxicated as a prior offender and failing to drive within a single lane.

Page was transported to Boone County Jail and has since been released.
