Libertarian Andrew Finkenstadt would abolish Department of Education

Libertarian Andrew Finkenstadt is running for governor on a platform that stresses governmental absence in as many areas of life as possible.

Finkenstadt works as a senior software engineer and is the operator of Webkahuna Internet Services.

He attended Franciscan University of Steubenville from 1983 to 1987, according to his campaign Web site.

Finkenstadt is a 42-year-old St. Charles native and is married to Carol Finkenstadt.

As of July 14, Finkenstadt's campaign finances had not exceeded $500.

As part of his Libertarian platform, Finkenstadt does not believe in mandatory education or mandatory education funding. He also prefers the government stay out of citizens' lives as much as possible, according to his campaign Web site.
