Kid Cudi – 'Indicud': 3 out of 5 stars

If you like Kid Cudi already, you’ll like Indicud, but if you haven’t gotten into his music, his newest release isn’t going to catch your attention.

According to Billboard, Kid Cudi wrote the entire album himself after splitting from the producers of his previous albums. It has his signature sound, but the album as a whole is dark, weird and sometimes sloppy. Indicud is a trip through Kid Cudi’s mind, sparing us none of the good, the bad or the ugly.

If you’re in the mood to just relax, you’ll find this album fitting. In the album, Kid Cudi frequently references smoking marijuana and even tripping on acid.

Kid Cudi has a lot of potential to continue to grow as a musician, even if the first album he wrote on his own turned out to be disappointing. He has trademarked a unique sound, has a strong fan base and will learn what he can do better after this release. Keep an eye out for his future albums because there’s sure to be more to come after Indicud.
