A bouncer at The Fieldhouse bar had his face cut while breaking up a fight Saturday night.

According to a news release from the Columbia Police Department, the suspect cut the victim’s face when the victim was confronting the suspect about the fight.

Police were patrolling outside the bar, which is located at 1107 E. Broadway, when the incident occurred.

“Officers always patrol downtown at closing time for the bars,” Columbia Police Department Sgt. Ken Hammond said.

The bouncer’s injury was not life-threatening. Ambulance personnel treated him at the scene, Hammond said.

The identity of the suspect is still unknown, according to the news release.

“The bouncer did not know the suspect,” Hammond said.
