An armed robbery took place near campus last night around 2 a.m.

Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Hamilton Way at 2:26 a.m. after being notified that two men approached two female victims while they were walking home, according to a Columbia Police Department press release.

The suspects allegedly held the women at gunpoint and demanded money. The women gave them an undisclosed amount of money, and both men then fled the scene, according to the release. The women were not injured during the robbery.

MU Alert notified students at 3:08 p.m. about the robbery. MU Police Department then also notified the campus at 3:13 a.m.
