Police search for two armed robbery suspects

A 60-year-old Columbia man was robbed Friday evening at Holiday House Apartments.

The victim was approached at about 8:30 p.m. by two males, one armed with a gun, in the apartment complex's parking lot, according to a news release from Columbia Police Department.

The suspect armed with the handgun ordered the victim to lie on the ground while the other suspect searched the victim's pockets. The unarmed suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim.

The suspects then took items of value from the victim's vehicle, which was parked in the parking lot, the news release stated.

The victim escaped and called the police while the suspects were searching his car. Officers arrived to the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

One suspect is described as 6 feet tall and the other is 5 feet 10 inches tall. Both are reported as black males who weigh around 170 pounds and have short black hair, the news release stated.
