A Columbia man was the victim of a shooting by an unknown attacker on Saturday, police said.

“The victim was not fully cooperative and police have not spoken to him since,” Columbia Police Department Sgt. Ken Hammond said.

“Columbia Police were notified there was a gunshot victim in the emergency room of a local hospital,” a CPD news release stated.

The victim told police that he had been shot in the parking lot on East Nifong Boulevard, but did not give police much information.

Police officers attempted to speak with other witnesses but did not gain any other information.

The victim told officers he did not know who shot him, Hammond said.
