Aijha Blackwell led Missouri in scoring in its loss to Texas A&M.
Jan. 27, 2020
On a somber day in the basketball world, Missouri basketball (5-15, 2-5 SEC) dropped another game to a ranked opponent, falling to No. 15 Texas A&M (17-3, 5-2 SEC) 72-53 in College Station, Texas.
The Tigers failed to string together their first multi-game winning stretch of the season following their victory over Ole Miss on Jan.19. Freshman Aijha Blackwell continued her strong play, leading Missouri in scoring for the third straight game with 18 points.
Missouri trailed for the entire game, conceding a 9-0 Aggie run to open the game. The Tigers lost every quarter except for the fourth, when they outscored Texas A&M by three points.
Missouri shot a paltry 32.7% from the field and 29.6% from deep. The Tigers did hit 90% of their free throws, but they only shot 10 times from the line. Only Hayley Frank eclipsed 50% shooting on the day, scoring 50 points on 4-7 shooting (57.1%).
The Tigers return home to Mizzou Arena on Thursday to take on No. 13 Kentucky (15-3. 4-2 SEC) as they look for their third conference victory.
